ABSTRACT:
Eating our own Dog Food:
Using UX methods to build a UX business
Today's entrepreneurs are lucky. Incredibly powerful technologies keep getting cheaper and more accessible, allowing us to reach niche markets around the world with incredible efficiency. Everyone knows that, but not everyone knows that combining technology with user experience thinking can lead to truly innovative products and business models.
Lou Rosenfeld will describe how user experience methods and approaches drive decisions at Rosenfeld Media, a new publishing house specializing in books on user experience design. The company is tackling conventional publishing challenges (selecting titles, designing books, and market research) armed with UX thinking, and finding tremendous opportunities for innovation and success. Lou will present brief case studies on each of these areas, and conclude with key takeaways (both positive and painful) for each area.
