personal statement
As a multi-disciplinary, critical thinker, who is both a designer and violence prevention practitioner, I am interested in the convergence of design and public health methods to create health behavior interventions as well as services and systems for those who are generally excluded or disenfranchised. In short, I am curious about and dedicated to creating that which improves an individual’s or a community’s ability to be safe, healthy and able to achieve their own aspirations. I also like to make time for bikram, cycling, scuba and adventures in cities at home and abroad.
project 2: Juncture Opportunity Engine
Inclusive and incremental, Juncture improves slum dwellers’ quality of life, creating circumstances that allow the jump from survival to growth. Simple technologies accelerate the matching of entrepreneurial ideas, networks and capital resulting in increased social and financial cooperation allowing resources to be leveraged in new ways for the common good.
