| Informal groups have difficulties in sharing and maintaining documents and other digital assets relating to their work. Email inboxes loaded with file attachments testify to the problem at hand. The file sizes can be bulky, the organization hard to manage, and the coordination next to impossible. In response, 1-Clique is a proposed content sharing service for groups that generates advertising, subscription, and licensing revenue. 1-Clique provided group members with a web-enabled dropbox that streamlines notification and harnesses powerful search technology to organize the group's shared content. Key to understanding the customer demand and competitive advantage of 1-Clique is a visualization of the service's functionality in context of the user experience. The backdrop of the visualization is the three mode of use: (1) Dragging and dropping a file into the ever-present dropbox whenever the need to share arises; (2) Receiving a passive notification that new content has been shared; and (3) easily finding and viewing content whenever you need because it's already been organized for you. In the foreground of the visualization are the key components of 1-Clique's functionality arranged by their sequential order of use in sharing content. Important to note is how much of the complex functionality (which is also 1-Clique's protectable intellectual property) is completely hidden from the user. |
