Knitting in Publicbook and exhibit design study
When I moved to Chicago, I was so excited by mass amounts of space given to the public. Not knowing any other knitters in the city, I decided to take my knitting outdoors to explore my new home. This book explores some of my favorite places to knit in the city, whether on my own or with groups of friends. They are not only great places for sitting, but places which are inspiring through color and art.
In addition to photographing the spaces and designing the book, I also wanted to think about how this could become an exhibit. With the premise that this exhibit could be packed up and moved around the globe, it needed to be fairly simple. Large 30 x 30" flat panels wrap around the display on sets of "needles".
